Williamsburg
Robin Elaine Morgan, 64, of rural Williamsburg and formerly of Southern California, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at UPMC Altoona surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 23, 1958, in Roaring Spring, daughter of John D. and Ruth E. (Longenecker) Morgan.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth of rural Williamsburg; five brothers: John Allen Morgan (Beth) of Williamsburg, Richard Morgan of Jersey Shore, Stephen Morgan of Williamsburg, Rodney Morgan (Mary) of Sevierville, TN, David Morgan (Kimberly) of Kane; two sisters: Renee Wheland (Sam) of Williamsburg and Mildred Young (Terry) of Altoona; also numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts; including a very special aunt, Emily Grannas, who greatly helped during Robin’s illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, John on Nov. 15, 2013.
Robin was a 1976 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg and in 1980 she received her bachelor of science degree in biology from Juniata College in Huntingdon. She also attended Multnomah Bible College in Portland, OR, where she was also employed for a few years. Robin later completed her masters degree in the English Second Language program at the Biola University in La Mirada, CA.
She lived in Southern California most of her adult life, until she was called to serve her Lord as a missionary. While serving as a missionary and during her missionary furloughs, Robin used her ESL degree by teaching at numerous community colleges and working with various ministries.
Robin was a lifelong member of Smithfield Church, rural Martinsburg. She was also very active in numerous churches in Southern California, including the Calvary Church of Santa Ana, CA, where she began her missionary life work and the Free Chapel in Irvine, CA.
She committed her life to serving God in so many ways. Robin served in numerous countries in Africa, in many remote villages, and also used her ESL degree to teach refugees. She also served in Canada and in Brooklyn, NY with a children’s ministry and most recently served in India. Robin loved The Lord and served him with a humble and surrendered heart.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. until noon, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Smithfield Church, rural Martinsburg. Pastor James Snyder will be officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
