Carol M. Franklin, 78, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones and listening to oldies on March 11, 2023 at the Village at Morrisons Cove. She was born on August 19, 1944 in East Providence Township, Bedford County; daughter of the late Kenneth M. and Margaret A. (Fink) Miller. On December 9, 1968 in Cumberland, Maryland, she was united in marriage to Charles V. Franklin; he preceded her in death on November 1, 2013.
Carol was a graduate of Northern Bedford High School and Brethren in Christ in faith. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and flowers, crossword puzzles, crocheting, “arm chair” shopping, Monster Trucks, TV crime shows and the Golden Girls, listening to oldies, cooking extravagant holiday family meals, and her annual July 4th backyard fireworks display. Carol loved her family and animals. She raised rabbits, chickens, and pigs. Carol loved horses, meerkats, and dogs (most recently her Husky, Levi and Dachshund, Midgee).
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Dalton Charles Franklin; brother, Arlan G. Miller; and step-daughter, Jo Franklin-Escobedo.
Surviving is daughter, Yvonne Hinkle and husband Kevin of Martinsburg; son, Charlie Franklin and wife Joni of Manns Choice; grandchildren, Chelsea, Dylan, Waylon, Camden, Harlie, Rylie, Colton, Stephen, Kaleb, Teagan, and Madalyn; great-grandchildren, Melanie and Luna; as well as brothers, K. Allen and Charles L. Miller.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury. Pastor Earl Herr will be officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
