Putting cows on the front page since 1885.
Moving on to next year is all that's left to do for the Central Boys Basketball team, who faced a devastating loss to the Johnstown Trojans in the District Six 4A championship as their last game.
The Dragons had lost their offensive touch in the LHAC championship, and this night was no different. The Trojans jumped to a 7-0 lead right off the bat in the first quarter, and the Dragons were left trailing all night after. The first quarter ended with the Dragons in a 13-5 deficit and a mere three points in the second quarter left them behind 22-8 by halftime. Another slow quarter left the Dragons with only eight more points, leaving the score at a hopeless 42-16. The Dragons finally found their rhythm in the fourth, but they had dug themselves in too deep to make a comeback. The Dragons had gotten the score down to a 15-point difference at one point, but it wouldn't last, finishing the game with a season ending loss, 57-39.
The Dragons were 12 of 34 shooting throughout the night for a 35 shooting percentage. Seth Bean led the Dragons with 11, while both Eli Muthler and Eli Lingenfelter each had nine. This loss ends the Dragons' season at a record of 22-3, which holds the school record for the winningest season.
