Roaring Spring
Marian Louise Biddle, 86, of Roaring Spring, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning Feb. 14, 2023.
She was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Harry W. and Goldie (Sipe) Carper. She lived her entire life at the Carper Homestead Farm.
She married Gene A. Biddle Sept. 22, 1956, and celebrated 46 years of marriage before his death in 2013.
She is survived by three children: Cindy Steele (Philip) of Newburg, Duane Biddle (Linda) and Teri Biddle, both of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren: Dustin Steele (Angelina), Danae Steele Klock (David), Nicholas Biddle (Liz) and Dana Steele Lutz (Brendan); and 10 great-grandchildren: Hailey, Isaiah and Kaden Steele; Aubrey and Daxon Klock; Pierce, Claire and Gwen Biddle, and another on the way in June; and Brycen Lutz.
Louise was a graduate of Woodbury High School. She retired in 1998 from Appalachia Intermediate Unit 08 after 24 years of employment, as well as helping on the family farm.
She was a life-time member of the former Woodbury Church of God, where she served as treasurer, organist, Sunday school teacher, and was active in Women’s Ministries. She most recently attended the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church as she was able.
Louise also served on the executive committee of Encounter, Cove Lioness Club, and Junior Women’s Club.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers who served Louise in a caring and loving way over the years: Kellie Swindell, Nicole Greenawalt, Judy and Paige Moseby and Peg Pepple.
A celebration of life service was held Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, in the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church. Pastor Philip Steele officiated. Inurnment was made in Replogle Cemetery, Woodbury.
