Dragon Basketball Triumphant

In two more games throughout the week, the Dragon basketball team found overwhelming victories against both the Chestnut Ridge Lions and the Central Cambria Red Devils. Against the Lions, the Dragons dominated with a 62-28 win, and had a Senior Night victory over the Red Devils with a score of 65-38.

Against the Lions, the Dragons held their opponents to a mere three points in the first quarter, and led with 13. By half, the Dragons extended their lead further, 31-10. The Dragons continued to dominate throughout the second half as well, securing their victory. The Dragons' defense truly won the game, holding the Lions' offense to single digit scoring in three of four quarters. Eli Lingenfelter led with 26 points, while both Shalen Yingling and Seth Bean added 10.

The Dragon JV team also found victory with a score of 44-17. High scorer was Robert Long-Yarrison with nine points.

The outcome of the matchup against the Red Devils was much the same. The Dragons led by 12 after the first quarter and furthered their lead to a staggering 33-15 at half. The Red Devils' offense picked up in the third, as did the Dragons', scoring 23 in the third. Once again, the Dragons held their opponent to scoring in single digits for three of four quarters. Each of Central's four seniors: Rylan Daugherty, Lingenfelter, Yingling and Bean scored 15 as leading scorers of the game.

In the JV game, the Dragons had another victory, 47-23. High scorer was Zach Lingenfelter with eight points.

The Dragons extended their record to 20-1.

To end the regular season, the Dragons will face the Bedford Bisons, then have a re-match against the Johnstown Trojans in the opening of the Laurel Highlands playoffs.
