Storm Drain in Question at Borough

Pastor Matthew Roberts attended the Williamsburg Borough Council meeting last Monday evening, Feb. 6, to talk about storm drain installation at the United Methodist Church corner.

The church recently installed an accessible entrance in the basement. Roberts explained that if it rains hard and the door is open, the water will definitely get in. Roberts, along with other council members, discussed a drain installation to help prevent run off and draining concerns. Jim Foreso made the motion to install a storm drain with Paula Hamilton seconding. The motion passed.

Mayor Ted Hyle discussed the importance of writing letters in support of getting cell service to Williamsburg and wants council members and local businesses to voice their support of getting service to our town.

"We got to keep this ball rolling," Hyle said.

There was some discussion on the Lutheran Church being off-street parking when it snows. The council decided that the Lutheran Church will not be an off-street parking site any longer and the borough will not be doing any snow removal on it.

An executive session was held following the meeting for personnel issues.
