Mid-year Graduation Held

Herald of Feb. 16, 1923

Owing to the serious illness and death of our father, John. S. Burket, we were unable to finish the Herald of last week. Having the issue partly printed, we are finishing the same and mailing today. We hope our friends will kindly overlook this omission.-editor.

Mid-year graduation exercises were held at State College when approximately seventy men and women were granted diplomas by the college.

The funeral of Madison Henry of Woodbury, which took place Sunday afternoon, was very largely attended by a concourse of sorrowing friends.

Ray Barley and Ivan Pote of Barley’s Corner made a business trip to Curryville one day last week. The result was that the latter came home with a fine new Star touring car.

Mrs. W. K. Stern of Oak Grove spent several days at Halter Creek last week with her daughter, Mrs. Cyril Smith, who was confined to her bed with a severe attack of indigestion.
