Claysburg-Kimmel FBLA recently participated in the Regional Leadership Conference at Saint Francis University. Region 5 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) – comprised of Altoona Area High School, Bishop Guilfoyle, Claysburg-Kimmel, Forest Hills, Hollidaysburg Area, and Northern Bedford – held its Regional Leadership Conference on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Saint Francis University. The chapters of Region 5 were very appreciative of Saint Francis University sponsoring the conference and their faculty for judging the events.
The day consisted of testing, performance events, a presentation by Dr. Miko and students from Saint Francis University, and the business meeting conducted by Region 5 President Taylor Conrad, and Region 5 secretary and PA FBLA state reporter, Cameron Claycomb. During the business meeting, voting delegates elected regional officers for the 2023-24 school year. Cameron Claycomb was elected as president, Avery Aungst of Northern Bedford was elected as vice president, and Sarah Hypes of Hollidaysburg was elected as secretary.
Members from across Pennsylvania will compete with hopes of earning their way to the FBLA National Leadership Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia, this June. Claysburg-Kimmel had the following students qualify to attend the Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey on April 16-19:

• Layla Diehl, Introduction to Social Media Strategy, 2nd
• Zaiden Bush, Introduction to Social Media Strategy, 2nd
• Kasey Mosser, Introduction to Social Media Strategy, 2nd
• Makenzie Ebersole, Introduction to Business Presentation, 1st
• Dakota Wilbur, Introduction to Business Presentation, 1st
• Mckenna Black, Introduction to Public Speaking, 2nd
• Levi Kennedy, Introduction to FBLA, 1st
• Jacob Conrad, Introduction to FBLA, 4th
• Zach Campagna, Business Calculations, 4th
• Kennedy Lewis, Word Processing, 1st
Claysburg-Kimmel also had the following members place at the Region 5 Leadership Conference:

Claysburg-Kimmel also had members submit projects for state-only events. There is not a regional competition for these events. FBLA members from across Pennsylvania submit projects to be judged. The state finalists in each event will be announced in January and will be invited to attend the State Leadership Conference in Hershey. C-K members submitting state only events are:
