Stern to Play Baseball

Isaac Stern, a senior at Northern Bedford High School, signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Shippensburg University. Stern played shortstop and second base for the Panthers.

Three people were arrested in connection to counterfeit $20 bills in Roaring Spring. Police received reports of counterfeit bills being passed at the Burger King and Subway restaurants along Route 36 in Roaring Spring. Witnesses described the vehicle that the suspects were driving and local and state police were able to apprehend the suspects along I-99, A search of the vehicle turned up additional counterfeit bills, and the investigation was ongoing.

A new law that went into effect on January 24 made it illegal to throw computers, monitors, and TVs into the garbage. The items contain chemicals and metals that are damaging to people and the environment. The items could be disposed of locally at the IRC’s composting facility on the Buckhorn, or Burgmeier’s Recycling in Altoona.
