In December I heard a rumor about a sportsman who had hit a deer and killed it with his vehicle. Since it was deer season and with his being a law-abiding sportsman, he used a deer tag to claim the deer. I thought he could have saved his tag by applying for a permit to take possession of the road-killed deer. However, he chose to use his deer tag, figuring this was an ethical, legal way to possess the dead deer. I would have thought so, too.
