Roaring Spring

Donald I. Dennis, 64, of Roaring Spring, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home after a lengthy battle with MS.

He was born January 17, 1958, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Violet “Vi” M. (Custer) Dennis and the late Kenneth F. Dennis. He married Pamela A. McClelland Nov. 14, 1992, in Woodbury.

He is survived by his mother, of Martinsburg; his wife; two daughters: Janelle Bolino and husband Michael of North Las Vegas, and Amanda Dennis and fiancee Jourdan Miller of East Freedom; two brothers: Gary Dennis and wife Debra of Roaring Spring and John Dennis and wife Heidie of Martinsburg; eight nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Don was a 1977 graduate of Central High School. He had served in the United States Army Reserves. He was previously employed at McClanahan’s, Orchard Lane Excavating, Robbins Motor Transport, and as an owner/operator for Mawson and Mawson Trucking.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors. Don was a member of the Blair Bedford Dirt Drags and the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, Roaring Spring.

A funeral was held, Jan. 7, 2033, in the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring (www.thompsonfh.com). Pastor Joel Kletzing. Interment was made in Alto-Reste Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory may be given to the Activity Department at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
