South Woodbury Twp. Makes Changes to Chair, Vice Chair

South Woodbury Township's monthly meeting featured nominations from supervisors and a change in positions. Rick Musselman will move to vice chair and John Hileman will move to chair. Rachael White will remain secretary/treasurer and Jay Claycomb will remain a supervisor.

Ritchey, Ritchey and Koontz will remain the CPA Auditor.

Wages and benefits were set. The laborer and secretary/treasurer wages are $16 an hour. There was an increase in vacation days from 8 to 12 for the secretary/treasurer.

Paid holidays are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Mileage reimbursement has now been raised to 65.5 cents per mile. This rate is the new rate from IRS for 2023 and is always subject to change.

Donations will be given to the following:

• Bedford County Library/Bookmobile: $400

• Bedford County Historical Society: $100

• Your Safe Haven: $100

• Camp Cadet: $100

• Bedford County Fireman Association: $100.

Roadmaster will remain Rick Musselman and John Hileman will be the assistant.

The township's legal counsel will remain Goldstein, Heslop, Steele, Clapper, Oswalt & Smith. Fees are $130 an hour and court fees are $145 an hour.

Tina Walter was appointed as EMS director. Norman Reif was named alternate.

Sewage enforcement officer is Jamie Catanese and inspection fee is $60.

The township engineer firm is Keller Engineers.

Chairman of the Vacancy Board is Judith Ott.

PA One-Call representative and emergency contact is Rick Musselman.

Open records officer is Rachael White.

Regular monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. The following are exceptions:

• July 5

• Nov. 8

• Dec. 5 – meeting at 6 p.m.

Rachael White will be the tax collection committee.

Emergency contact and representative for wastewater operations are John Hileman and Rick Musselman.

Approval was given for someone to go to the State Association annual convention to be held April 23-26.

Other business

Roadmaster Rick Musselman gave his report. Trees were trimmed and snow plowing took place.

The application for County Aid Distribution was completed, and the township should receive $1,896.26 for the resolution of road funds.

Subdivision & Land Use included a final Major Relocation and Merger between Lee James Sell and Greg A. and Roseanna J. Carbaugh a total of 33.65 acres.

There was a property line change on Town Hill Road for W.L. Hall Lime & Coal, Inc. with David and George Snyder.

The board of auditors met Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.

The Tax Collection Committee will meet Jan. 19, 2023.

Bedford County Association of Municipalities (BCAM) meets Jan. 25, 2023, pending confirmation.

The next township meeting will be Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
