Borough Retains Most for 2023

During its Jan. 3 meeting the Williamsburg Borough made some administrative reappointments. These included retaining Evey Black Law Offices as the solicitor for the borough, the borough manager/secretary/treasurer, and all current borough employees. The borough also introduced its agreement with CCIS for rental/building code enforcement.

Chief of Police Rowdy Kagarise praised borough employees for their “excellent plow job” over the last few snow storms. Mayor Ted Hyle reiterated that appreciation for borough plowing. Hyle explained that residents were alerted by telephone about moving cars. There is still an issue with some not moving cars, and tickets will be written up for those who don’t follow the move order.

Hyle also gave an update on the Race Widening Project. Stiffler McGraw’s John Clabaugh submitted the grant application for the borough’s part of the project and the application is under review until July of this year.

The borough selected two hazard mitigation committee members to attend meetings – Jim Foreso and Hyle. Foreso also was appointed to the government advisory committee member.

Hyle discussed the logo for the sign coming into town, which is based on the Trail Town theme and will feature the quote “Take your journey.”
