Heiress Has Ties to the Cove

Mary McConnell Bailey, a New York City heiress who passed away in 2011 at the age of 88, had ties to the Morrisons Cove area through her mother, Sara, who was a member of the D.M. Bare family. D.M. Bare was the founder of Roaring Spring Blank Book Company, and Bailey remained a stakeholder in the company at her death. She left $10 million to the New York Public Library and $10 million to the Central Park Conservancy.
