A lack of members leaves the Central Dragon Wrestling team with many forfeit matches, meaning an almost impossibility of winning a match as a team. Nothing stops members, however, from competing individually, as they did at the Penn Cambria Holiday Classic. Later in the week, although ending with a 45-24 loss, many individual matches ended with success for the Dragon Wrestlers against the Central Cambria Red Devils.
Though losing in the first round of the tournament, Tyler Biesinger found victory in his next two consolation matches with a 7-5 decision and a 14-2 major decision. The tournament ended for him with an 8-6 decision loss in his third consolation round. Isaac Smith won a 10-2 major decision in his first round of the tournament but lost in the second tournament round and in the first consolation round. Lastly, Camdyn Wenerick lost in the first round as well, but had a victory by fall in the first consolation round at 4:44 before facing another loss in the second consolation round.
Against the Red Devils later in the week, the Dragon Wrestlers came up with four total wins. Wenerick recorded a fall at 1:22 to best Lucas Miller, and Biesinger had a fall at 1:00 on the dot over Madison Rigsby. Isaac Smith and Bailey Wilt both had forfeit wins to contribute to the team score. Though the Dragons improve, having to take five forfeit losses is a burden to their team score, resulting in their overall loss.
Without a win, the Dragons continue on in their ventures as they prepare to face the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs and the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers in the upcoming week.
