Sheetz Holds Grand Opening

Sheetz held a grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the new employee health and wellness center. The Sheetz Center for Shwellness was located beside the Sheetz Distribution Center in Claysburg.
The Martinsburg Fire Company was called out on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve to accidents at the same location along Piney Creek Road in Huston Township. In both instances, drivers struck and sheared off the same Century Link telephone pole.
Homewood’s cafe manager, Joe Gilbert, created an edible gingerbread house that was on display on Homewood’s campus. The confection contained 30 pounds of flour and 24 pounds of powdered sugar, and took Gilbert 40 hours to complete.
A driver was life-flighted from the scene of a milk tanker rollover just outside of Loysburg on Churchview Road. He lost control of the truck while rounding a sharp right curve and the tanker overturned on its side and slid across the road onto a private property. The man sustained major injuries.
