School Board Votes Close For President, Vice President

Voting was critical during last Tuesday evening’s Williamsburg School Board meeting when Dr. Barry England pulled a 5-4 vote to continue his tenure as school board president; the other 4 votes were for Patricia Kensinger.

Following the vote, Dr. England praised the school district and administration.

“We are very blessed here — great administration,” England said. “We do a good job here.”

England went on to say that many people approach him and express their surprise that a school as little as Williamsburg is still around.

“Although we may have to play sports elsewhere, don’t say we can’t educate our kids here,” England said.

Ben Postles was elected as the vice president over Jill Norris with a 5-4 vote.

Act 32 reappointments included Primary Voting Delegate Kalie Zabrosky and Alternate Melissa Lindemann.

For the GACTC Operating Committee, Carlee Ranalli was once again voted to be Williamsburg’s primary representative with Adam Hileman as the alternate. Hileman was also elected to be the PSBA legislative representative for another year.

Secondary Principal Jennifer Frederick talked about some of the activities going on at the school: painting windows downtown, the 9th graders touring the Vo-Tech and parent-teacher conferences. Frederick also said students have reached the midpoint of the school year.

Randy Ebersole was appointed as a Long-Term Substitute teacher for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year. He will be contracted through the substitute service ESS at a stipend of $150/day.

There was an executive session held for personnel and legal matters.
