Verna Blough

Verna Blough, 104, Martinsburg, formerly of Johnstown, passed away Nov. 26, 2022.

She was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late S. Bruce and Gertrude (Claar) Beegle.

She is survived by nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Roy C. Keiper in 1956; second husband, Val Gene Blough in 1993; sisters: Mildred Mauk, Daisy Barley, Wilma Smith; and brothers, Emmert, and Melvin Beegle.

Verna was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. She retired from the Johnstown School District in 1977 with 36 years of teaching. She was an active member of Franklin Street United Methodist Church from 1964 until 2012. She was also active in Masonic orders and community activities including Arbutus Park Manor.

Services in Johnstown will be private.
