Nixon Gets a Landslide Victory

Morrisons Cove joined the nation in giving President Richard M. Nixon a landslide victory in his bid for reelection. The Republican president carried the Republican stronghold of Morrisons Cove by a margin of three to one.
Less than one hour after the polls opened at the Central High School auditorium lobby on Election Day, the school received a telephone bomb threat. Voting continued while students were sent to the gymnasium until a search of the building was complete. No bomb was found.
Paul A. Miller of Martinsburg was named to the new, full-time position of Park Administrator for the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park. The new position is separate from that of the Park Manager, Lloyd C. Zook.
The New Enterprise Weight Watchers have lost a ton of fat since the class was organized in June. The class learned after its weigh in that over 2,000 pounds of excess weight had been lost by its members.
