Joanne (Rupert) Speacht, 88, of rural Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at her home.
She was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Altoona, daughter of the late, Robert W. and Violet M. (Hearn) Rupert. On March 31, 1956, she married S. Glenn Speacht in Altoona.
She is survived by her beloved husband, S. Glenn of 66 years; three children: Barry G. (Marjorie) Speacht, Gary A. (Lee Ann) Speacht and Cheryl A. Speacht (Darrell Bumford) all of Williamsburg; three grandchildren: Ashley Dively, Amy Speacht and Lyndsay Speacht (Joel Kwapis) three great- grandchildren: Owen Dively, Braylyn Speacht and Benjamin Holencik
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Glenn Speacht; and a sister, Betty (Rupert) Wynstra.
Joanne was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1955 graduate of Atlantic City Hospital School of Nursing.
She was employed for many years as a Registered Nurse, working at the Atlantic City Hospital, Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring and the Veteran’s Hospital in Altoona.
She was a faithful member of the Williamsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where she served as pianist, choir director and puppet show director. Joanne was also a member of GWRRA Motorcycle Chapter “S” of Altoona and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Joanne loved spending time with her family, and serving her Lord and church with her musical talents. She also enjoyed crocheting, leather work and was an excellent seamstress.
Friends will be received from 5 until 8 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Williamsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the church, where a funeral will follow at 11 a.m., with Reverend Paul Campbell officiating. Private interment will be held at Sparr Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Joanne may be given to the Williamsburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, c/o, Rev. Paul Campbell, 214 E. Third St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
