The Friends of the Martinsburg Community Library held its annual regorganization meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.
The Cove Book Club met on Sept. 13 to discuss “Killers of the Flower Moon” by David Grann. The group had a Zoom presentation with a member of the Osage Indian tribe. Cori Bolger and Jodi Stouffer gave a talk about the Indian school in Martinsburg. The book selection for October is “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horan.
The summer reading program for preschool through 8th grade was a success with 36 children participating.
The Bash at the Bistro event will be on Oct. 8. Tickets are being sold at the library.
A discussion was held concerning the next library book sale. The group decided to have the next sales in April and September 2023.
Preschool Story Hour is an ongoing program held on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
The Friends new president is Sue Blanchard. Members thanked outgoing president Linda Smith for her many years of service.
The next meeting of the Friends will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the library. All friends of the library are welcome to attend the meeting.
