Lady Dragon Tennis Destroys Opponents

The Lady Dragon Tennis Team started the week off with a double match against the Bishop Guilfoyle Lady Marauders. Utterly destroying the competition, the Lady Dragons ended with a 10-0 victory. Later in the week, in a home match against the Richland Lady Rams, the Lady Dragons took another shutout victory, winning 5-0.

Starting off in the singles matches against the Lady Marauders, Julia Ritchey, Ashlyn Renner and Brooklyn Coppersmith all won with either a 10-0 victory in the match or won by forfeit through both matches of the double-header. In the first of the doubles matches, Adacyn James teamed with Kate Dunn to cinch a 10-1 victory. After that, Kimmy Yingling teamed with Annabel Shippey to obliterate the opposing duo, winning another 10-0 match. In the second set of doubles matches, James teamed with Zoe Grill for a 10-3 victory, while Yingling teamed with Brooke Smith to seize a 10-5 victory to end the double-header without a loss for the Lady Dragons.

Ritchey began the match against the Lady Rams with two quick victories, winning 6-0 and then 6-1. Renner then followed with two more set victories, 6-3 and 6-1, to win the second singles match. Coppersmith had a shutout third match, winning both her sets 6-0. James and Dunn teamed in the first doubles match for a comeback victory after losing the first set 7-5. Winning the second set 6-1 and the third 11-9 gave the Lady Dragons the fourth win of the night. Yingling teamed with Kaylee Cole to win the final doubles match, winning the sets 6-1 and 6-4.

The victories from the week bump the Lady Dragons to a 6-3 record, heading into the upcoming three-match week against the Chestnut Ridge Lady Lions, the Bedford Lady Bisons, and the Bishop McCort Lady Crushers.
