Ward’s Focus will ‘Restrict Voting Rights’
To the Editor:
State Sen. Judy Ward at a recent Blair Chamber breakfast when asked twice if Joe Biden was the legally elected President of the U.S. answered “Joe Biden is President.” Earlier in her remarks, she said election integrity was her district’s number one issue. No wonder!
Since as early as November 10, 2020, two days after the election, she has worked alone and in tandem with state Sen. Doug Mastriano to prevent Biden from taking office and more recently to alter election laws in order to conform to baseless election conspiracy theories. She’s proud of it!
Go to her website: senatorjudyward.com/2020/12/14/senate-action-on-ensuring-fair-elections/. There you will find a chronology of all she’s undertaken to prevent Biden from becoming president AND steps to restrict voting rights for the rest of us to ensure Republican victories in PA.
There’s also the Washington Post article, dated June 6, 2021, by Rosalind Helderman, explaining how Ward and Mastriano in December 2020 contacted commissioners in Cumberland, Juniata and Fulton counties to have an outside audit of their already certified election results by a private company, Wake TSI, contracted by Mastriano. Fulton was the only county to comply. No irregularities were found, but Fulton has to buy all new voting machines!
Ward is now pushing four amendments to the state constitution that will restrict voting rights, “tighten” voting by mail, limiting the number of drop off boxes, providing more election audits and requiring Voter ID.
As to the latter, in June 2012 House Republican Leader Mike Turzai told a Republican state committee meeting the new ID law “will allow Romney to win the state.” So much for Voter ID being nonpartisan. The court issued an injunction against the law going into effect so close to that election. After further litigation, a judge in 2014 rules the law “placed an unreasonable burden on the fundamental right to vote.”
What is at stake in the 2022 election is the survival of the republic, whether conspiracy and lies will carry the day. We can’t stop Joyce, Gregory and Schmitt, whose hands are by no means clean on this matter, from being re-elected, but Ward does have an opponent. Vote Ward out!
