Cheerleading Returns to C-K

The Instructional Support Team at the elementary level of the Spring Cove School District was eliminated following a vote at a special school board meeting. Teachers were reassigned to provide support to the students who needed it.
Cheerleading returned to the Claysburg-Kimmel School District after the board unanimously hired a cheerleading advisor in a special meeting. All secondary practices were canceled because the squad could not practice without an advisor.
The Greenfield United Church of Church of Christ celebrated its 200th anniversary. The congregation began in 1812 with a log house, with a larger brick building erected in 1875.
James Dick of Saxton was killed while working on power lines in York County. He was working on relocating the lines when he came in contact with a 7,000-volt live wire.
Jeanne Bolger of Martinsburg and the Vicksburg Quartet were featured in a new book called “Altoona Scrapbook of Musical Memories” written by Herman Naugle.
