Weyandt Wins Little Miss Claysburg

Hues of ivory, Claysburg blue, lavender and pink donned the yards of the Claysburg Park this past Saturday for the annual Little Miss Claysburg pageant – one of the highlights of the Claysburg Community Days. Following ceremonies, Trinity Grayce Weyandt, daughter of Mindy Weyandt and Garrett Weyandt, came out the new Little Miss Claysburg.

Judges for the event included 2010 Little Miss Claysburg Eden Eicher, State Representative Jim Gregory of the 80th District and Tame Your Mane hairstylist Lauren Gildea. The host and director of the pageant was Diana G. Walter-Dively.

Following the parade of all the contestants and an introduction of 2021 Little Miss Claysburg Alaina Musselman, the 17 contestants competed in two rounds of judging. One was a walk for the judges, and the other was a pose and question-answer session.

The contestants included: Olivia Ann Brown, Jerrika Jo Burket, Bailee Grace Claar, Charlee Jo Diehl, Piper Mae Dodson, Aryia Starr Hill, Emmalynn Rosella Keister, Scarlett Elizabeth McCreary, Adelyne Grace Suhoney, Vanessa Ann Tipton, Avery Mae Weyandt, Gabriella Rosemarie Weyandt, Haleigh Mae Weyandt, Khloe Lashae Weyandt, Ava Jade Weyant and Sara Grace Whysong.

Contestants for round two were asked a variety of questions, including what is your favorite zoo animal, what's your favorite TV show and what's your favorite vacation spot.

While the judges' votes were tabulated, Walter-Dively presented awards to two of the seniors who were retiring as helpers for the pageant – Avionna Lattieri and Taylor Mowry.

Walter-Dively presented two special awards donated by herself in memory of her mother – Loretta "Ret" Dively – the Spirit Award presented to Theresa Lattieri for all her help during the pageants and helping with organization, and another Spirit Award for Dively's Surplus and Antique Depot for a Sponsor for appreciation and gratitude.

2021 Little Miss Alaina Musselman took her final walk and then gave a small speech acknowledging some of the highlights of her reign, including riding in the homecoming parade. She acknowledged that although Claysburg is a small town, "we work together in a big way."

She also thanked Diana Walter-Dively for all her work for the pageant and organization.

Walter-Dively then announced the winners – runners up received a flower arrangement and a trophy.
