Every year, the teachers and staff members of the Spring Cove Education Association (SCEA) donate thousands of dollars to help community members in need. In the past five years, SCEA has contributed nearly $37,000 to the students, families, needs, and causes of the Spring Cove School District (SCSD) where they serve.
SCEA holds regular and special dress-down days during which participants pay to dress in jeans to come to work. Then, the organization uses that money to assist in so many ways. Here is a list of some of the contributions that members have given back to the public in the past five years.
• $2,000 to local libraries
• $1,000 to the United Way
• $7,500 in scholarships for graduating seniors
• $900 to three local fire companies (during the COVID lockdown)
• $900 to local food banks (during the COVID lockdown)
• $1,100 to Easter for Eli
• $1,000 to the Dragon Pride Foundation
• $1,000 to Books for Babies
• $19,000 to local families in need
• $2,500 to other causes
The teachers and staff of SCSD care so much about the children and families of their community that they provide much more than a well-rounded education for the students. They work tirelessly to make sure that the entire community benefits from their daily labor of love.
This does not even count what numerous individuals have paid directly from their own pockets to assist students and families in the area and for school supplies for their classrooms.
