S.C. Power Reunion Prepares for Fall Show

The Southern Cove Power Reunion held its August meeting on Aug. 4 at 6 p.m.

The secretary report by Melanie Clapper was read and approved. The treasurer report by Amy Mellott was also read and approved.

The fall show will be held on the grounds on Sept. 17, 18 and 19. John Deere will be featured at this year's event. Tickets are available to win a John Deere tractor and other items. These can be purchases from any club member. Tickets will also be available at the tractor pull on Aug. 13 and at the fall show.

There are spaces available for food vendors and craft vendors for the fall show. Please call Barb Detwiler at (814) 766-2806 for more information and to book a space. Those who would like to camp on the grounds can call Fred Mellott at (814) 766-2703.

The club is already seeing raffle baskets from businesses. Club members and anyone who would like to help the club in this way can call Melanie Clapper for more information or have them at the club building Sept. 16 by 3 p.m. or before.

Food will also be provided at the tractor pull and the fall show by the club's staff. Chicken tender baskets, hamburgers, hot dogs, soft pretzels and gobs are a few food items available.

Those who have not been able to get to a show this year can attend on Aug. 13. The tractors begin pulling a 4 p.m. The show is free to attend. It is great way to spend quality time with family and maybe inspire the next farmer or tractor lover.

The new swing set is ready to enjoy, and children can roam the grounds.

Next month lots of details on the fall show will be given. Also do not forget about the winter spectacular at the grounds for the month of December with horse drawn rides, light displays, Santa and cookies. Next club meeting will be on Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. Club members are encouraged to attend the meeting and participate.
