The South Woodbury Township Board of Supervisors met on Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. in the township building. There were three residents attending the meeting.
The land development plan for John I. Zimmerman was approved. Scott Baker swapped 0.869 acres of land with Zimmerman. Rebecca L. Nichols merged two pieces of land into one.
Sewer management had six inspections in the month of July.
A solar panel draft ordinance was discussed. John Hileman will investigate code definitions for personal and business differences. The ordinance was deferred until the next meeting before passing. The solicitor will also be called to ensure a clear understanding between the two.
The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce requested that the township approve bikes coming through South Woodbury Township in the area of Brumbaugh Mountain and Salemville. This ride will take place on Sept. 17. This was approved by the supervisors.
The Bedford County Planning Commission announced the retirement of Don Swartz. Stephanie Clevenstine will become the new head of the planning commission.
Aging accounts receivable were reviewed and remain about the same.
The plant operation June report was reviewed with no issues.
The audit for wastewater for 2021 is available with no major findings.
W.C. Wiles pump inspections revealed Loysburg pump needs repairs. Cost will be close to $11,000. A new pump is three times this amount. Supervisors agree to have this pump rebuilt.
Smoke testing of sewer lines will be done on Aug. 8 and 9. People may see smoke coming out of manholes or areas where sewer lines run. This will be normal.
The next meeting is Sept. 6 at 9 a.m.
