Restaurant Closes

In a decision based on the “cold reality of numbers”, the Blair County Airport Authority announced that the Kitty Hawk Restaurant and Wright Gifts, the airport gift shop, would close at the end of the week. The airport board was hopeful that they would be able to reopen a restaurant in the future.

The Blair County Genealogical Society was planning to purchase the former WKMC-WHPA building near Hollidaysburg using funds donated by the late Robert B. Roller, a native of Williamsburg. After his death Roler left the bulk of his estate to the Society, with the stipulation that the funds be used for a new library located within two miles of the Blair County Courthouse.

The Roaring Spring Athletic Field received a facelift when a new coat of paint was applied to the press box and a new scoreboard and new goalposts were erected.

Elizabeth Panek of Martinsburg was headed to Teresina, Brazil as part of the Rotary International Exchange Program. Elizabeth was a 1997 graduate of Central High school.
