Cheryl Elaine Tipton, 69, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Fredericksburg, rural Martinsburg, went home to be with her Lord, early Saturday morning, July 30, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born Aug. 14, 1952, in Altoona, daughter of the late William Jerome and Alma May (McKee) Hazlett. On March 24, 1978, she married John B. Tipton in Wheeling, W.V. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 2011, after 33 years of marriage.

She is survived by a daughter, Danielle Tragon (Robert Wood) and a son, John B. II both of Altoona; five grandchildren: Makena, Janae, Aiden, Bailey and Anthony; two sisters: Connie Bookhammer and Susie Packard; a brother, Denny Loop; and a step-brother, Jerry Loop.

Cheryl went to school in Altoona and later in life completed her GED.

She faithfully attended Center City Church, in Altoona, where she often helped with the Silver Cords.

She was a caring homemaker, who loved spending time with her family, volunteering for the American Red Cross and her Wednesday evening bible study with friends. Cheryl also enjoyed painting, crocheting, cooking, canning pickles and flower gardening.

A funeral took place Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg (www.bolgerfuneralhome.com). Pastor Jim Kilmartin officiated. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Cheryl can be given to Center City Church (Silver Cords), 1220 12th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
