Louella D. Pheasant

Louella D. Pheasant, 89, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Monday morning, July 25, 2022, at Homewood.

She was born July 19, 1933, in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Ezra Luther and Lavina Pearl (Wicker) Detwiler. On September 21, 1951, she married Robert R. Pheasant at the Fairview Church of the Brethren, Williamsburg. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 2012, following 60 years of marriage.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Louella was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Bumgardner; and six brothers: C. Raymond, H. Clair, Robert C., Ralph L., Marion E. “Amos” and John F. Detwiler.

She was a 1951 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. Louella was a lifelong member of Fairview Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Deaconess and Sunday/Bible school teacher.

Louella served for many years on the Williamsburg Farm Show Committee and assisted her husband, Bob with their dairy farm along Clover Creek. She loved Christmas and doing crafts.

Friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Fairview Church of the Brethren, Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Alan E. Brumbaugh will be officiating. Private interment will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Louella may be given to Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1022 Fairview Rd., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
