Summer Programs Continue At Claysburg Library

"Oceans of Possibilities" Summer Quest Programs brought many children of all ages to the library. The library held six programs related to the ocean: turtles, sharks, mermaids/shells, pirates, ships, and coral reefs/crabs.

Many have enjoyed these programs, including Scarlett, shown in the left photo above, who acted like a mermaid in the ocean, and Madison France, a college volunteer, in the right photo, who read a book about a turtle.

While these programs are over, there are still summer programs to enjoy.

On Aug. 4 at 11 a.m., the library will host a program on nocturnal animals with Trough Creek Park. Later that day at 6 p.m., the library will hold its monthly craft evening. In keeping with the ocean theme, the craft will use seashells to make necklaces.

Did you ever want to be a superhero? On Aug. 11 at 11 a.m., children will become superheroes. They will need to identify their powers and choose their names. Staff will be available to train the superheroes and help identify their strengths.

On Oct. 15, the library will hold the 10th Annual Benefit Dinner at the East Freedom Fire Hall. A full turkey dinner will come with the purchase of a ticket. Tickets are available at the library. Raffle baskets, a silent auction and small games of chance will provide entertainment for guests.
