Club Donates Money

The Martinsburg Business and Professional Women’s Business Club donated $175 to the Martinsburg Community Library. The money would be used to purchase books and videotapes.

Chalmer Wineland of Roaring Spring celebrated his 90th birthday with an open house at his residence. He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad after 46 years, and drove school bus for 26 years.

The Blair County Commissioners gave their consent for a police memorial in the new courthouse annex. The project was expected to cost $25,000 and 25% of that had been raised.

The Martinsburg Fireman sold 4,240 ox roast sandwiches at their annual fundraising sale. The previous year they sold 4,280.
