John Dewey Walter, a Greenfield township young man who fatally injured his brother-in-law, John Weyandt, when he shot him point blank in the face after an argument in the home of the former near Friesville, was removed to the Blair county jail. Walter did not know that Weyandt was dead until within sight of the jail. He was being held without bail awaiting a preliminary hearing before Justice of the Peace C. Irwin Lewis.
