A Claysburg man wanted on a felony warrant is behind bars while his girlfriend is facing charges for trying to hide him.
According to Greenfield Township police, on June 18, Blair County Children Youth and Families was contacted by a mandated reporter that there was possibly a meth lab in operation at the Smokey Run Road residence of Amanda Little, 24, and that there were children present. The caller also reported that there were fugitives in the house.
Police, along with a county caseworker, went to Little’s residence and after telling Little why they were there, the caseworker entered the house.
Police said that after inspecting the home, the caseworker went outside and told police that they saw Quentin Dibert, 22, crouching behind some boxes on the second floor of the house. Police said Dibert had active felony warrants through the Blair County Sheriff’s office.
Police said they advised Little multiple times that Dibert had warrants but that she repeatedly told them that he was not inside the house. Police advised Little that if Dibert was found in the house she would be charged with hindering apprehension.
Police secured a search warrant and returned to Little’s residence where they again warned her that if Dibert was inside, she would face charges. Police said Little again told them that Dibert was not in the house.
While police detained Little, they went to the rear door of the house and twice announced their presence. Police said after their second time calling out they heard a male’s voice upstairs and ordered him to come down the steps with his hands visible.
Police identified the male as Dibert and took him into custody.
Dibert was arraigned by Martinsburg Magisterial District Judge Andrew Blattenberger on a felony charge of flight to avoid apprehension and placed in the Blair County Prison on $45,000 bond.
Little was charged with a felony count of hindering apprehension along with a misdemeanor count of obstructing a law enforcement officer. She was arraigned by Blattenberger and released on $40,000 bail.
Both Little and Dibert face preliminary hearings today, June 30, in front of Blattenberger.
