Picnic Planning Underway

Herald of June 16, 1922

Planning was underway for the Guyer Community Orchestra Picnic. It was to be held in the Wilson Koontz Grove on June 22. Planned activities included a peanut scramble, greased pole climb, sack races, foot races, and tug-o’-war.

Work on the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park was progressing right along. The stumps were being removed by blasting.

David B. Weaver of Saxton was visiting among friends in Martinsburg. Mr. Weaver will be remembered as the last survivor of the prospectors who “Blazed the Trails” of the first discovered placer gold mines in Montana 56 years earlier.
