RS VFW to Sponsor Festival

Three Cove communities – Claysburg, Roaring Spring and East Freedom – will come together on Saturday, June 4, for the Family Freedom Festival sponsored by the Morrisons Cove Ray VFW Camp Post 7689 Auxiliary in Roaring Spring.

The first of its kind event will bring together police, firefighters, and EMTs along with food, games and safety checks.

According to Donna Estright, auxiliary president, the Family Freedom Festival came about because of the VFWs’ efforts to build better communities.

“We want to get people involved in their communities and felt this was a good start,” she said.
