Blair EMS Switching Signals

Anyone with an analog police scanner was warned to purchase a new one as Blair County EMS was planning to switch to a digital narrowband signal in 2013. Most EMS agencies in the area had purchased new equipment in preparation for the change.

The third annual Cruise In to Benefit Fragile X Syndrome was held in Martinsburg. More than 50 classic cars showed up for the event that raised more than $12,000 to benefit research for the syndrome.

A 97-year old bridge located over Plum Creek near East Sharpsburg was slated to be removed by PennDOT. Some local residents were concerned that removing the bridge would cause problems for local residents and were planning to contact local officials.

Williamsburg Borough received a Community Development Block Grant of $90,000 to make upgrades to the Community Center. The Williamsburg Fire Company was planning to do the work to improve the building.
