The Lady Dragon softball team defeated the Bishop Carroll Lady Huskies 14-3, and the Bedford Lady Bisons 18-1.
Against the Lady Huskies, the Lady Dragons started the game by bringing in two runs in the first inning, followed by another run in both the second and third. The Lady Dragons brought in one more run in the fifth inning before scoring nine runs in the sixth to end the game with a victory.
Madison Daugherty picked up the pitching victory, striking out 12 and giving up only two hits in five innings of work. Lacey Lynn led the Lady Dragon offense with three hits, including a home run, and four runs scored. Bralyn Ellis had two doubles and Madison Kennedy hit a home run. Regan Dodson had two hits and scored two runs for the Lady Dragons. Taylor Stock had two hits for the Lady Dragons, including a double.
In the Senior Night game against Bedford, the Lady Dragons had a swift, two-inning victory. In an incredible start, the Lady Dragons took off by scoring 13 runs in the first inning alone. After five more in the second, the game was a solid victory.
Ellis hit a grand slam and a three-run home run in the first inning. Ellis finished with three hits and eight RBIs. Madison Daugherty picked up the pitching victory. Stock added three hits and scored two runs. Dodson had a base hit, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Averey Black had a base hit, two stolen bases, and two runs scored as well. Alexis Sarver had a base hit and two RBIs. Madison Kennedy had three RBIs and scored two runs. Maya Hazenstab scored three runs and had three stolen bases.
These victories bring the Lady Dragons’ record to 12-1 on the season. They will continue into a busy upcoming week with games against the Central Cambria Lady Red Devils, the Richland Lady Rams, a double-header against the Bishop Guilfoyle Lady Marauders, and games against the Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties, and the Penn Cambria Lady Panthers.
