Robert Vadella of State College was chosen as the new superintendent for the Spring Cove School District. Vadella was one of six applicants who interviewed with the board.

Students at the Williamsburg Elementary School raised $2,508 for the American Heart Association. The Central High Double-Dutch team, coached by Deanie Cafferty, presented an assembly on jumping to kick off the fundraising event.

The Leah Hoover Memorial Fund donated an off-road vehicle to the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company. The vehicle was to be used for brush fires and remote physical rescues.
