Putting cows on the front page since 1885.
My parents, Rick and Suzanne (shown in the photo) celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past Tuesday, April 26.
Being in the wedding spirit, I decided to ask the residents of Williamsburg – What was one of the best memories you have of your wedding or wedding day?
Here is what a few had to say:
Kirstie Stayduhar: My husband lost his wedding band. When we got home, he noticed his wedding band was missing. We drove back to the reception and found it on the ground.
Brittany Clowson: My wedding day was absolutely perfect but my favorite part was when my husband cried as I walked down the aisle.
Diana Barroner: I was surprised I didn’t cry and that was a great thing! But I was hearing someone crying and thought it was my sister, but here it was my dad.
Ashley Morgan: Our JP wedding was me laughing but being surrounded with my mom, dad, sisters and my son. The church wedding was being surrounded by our families and walking down the aisle.
Stacy Feathers: Not only did I get to marry my best friend but my baby sister had the most epic maid of honor speech.
Anna Gibboney: I sang “Truly Madly Deeply” to John at our wedding. Beyond that, I still giggle that I managed to smash cake in his face and goatee, but I escaped with a little icing on my nose.
Tracy Everhart: Was a classic event, was happy to be the driver.
Melody Wise: Seeing the kids so excited to have us married, taking the fire engine to our reception site with lights and sirens blaring, my husband dancing so often with me at the reception, Liam break-dancing without a care in the world, and just sharing the day with our friends and family.
David Flaig: Getting our wedding pictures taken in the junkyard where we met.
Tammy Dilling: All of the people that came didn’t know they were there for a wedding. I was blessed to have all of the family there for a surprise wedding – turned out wonderful.
Jill Norris: Wedding cost $73 and that included breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
Lauren Ellis: I thought we were going deep sea fishing and being married by the captain. Instead, there were mule-drawn carriages carrying us and our families to Battery Park in Charleston, S.C., to be married in a beautiful gazebo there – all unbeknown to me. Jeff planned it all with help from wonderful family and friends.
