Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in Roaring Spring and the Center for Organ Recovery (CORE) helped kick off National Donate Life month on April 4, by holding a flag-raising ceremony to raise local awareness of the need for organ donors. April is "National Donate Life Month," and on April 4, Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in Roaring Spring once again participated in the Center for Organ Recovery (CORE) flag-raising ceremony to shine a light on the need for organ donors.
According Conemaugh Nason Nursing Administrative Assistant and CORE Liaison Barb Ritchey, nearly 118,000 people nationwide, and nearly 7,000 people in Pennsylvania, are currently waiting for an organ transplant.
