Belly Busters Foodtrucks, the ever-popular food truck that stemmed from the dream of Walter Weaver and co-owner Joshua Bradley, wanted to do some things different for this season, and their loyalty program is just one of many.
“If [the customers] are going to be loyal to us, we want to be loyal to them,” co-owner Walter Weaver said.
The TOAST loyalty system gives those loyal customers a point per $1 spent at the food truck. For 100 points, customers can receive $5 off. Those who have not yet applied can do so on the Belly Busters Foodtruck & Catering LLC page.
Weaver said that throughout the food truck season, they will be offering different perks through the loyalty program. The loyalty program is not all that is new on the food truck – a few new menu items include wings with limited flavors, and salads (chicken, buffalo, and steak) and daily/weekly specials.
Also on the food truck will be a new face. Jeff “Cheffy” Schwaderer recently joined the team. For the last few years, Belly Busters had been using Cheffy’s specialty sauce and BBQ sauce for their recipes.
“He’s our sauce guy,” said Weaver. “He’s been in the food industry business for 40 years. We are so lucky to have him.”
On a good week, the crew at Belly Busters said they sell an estimated 500-700 burgers. The food truck makes many stops during the week – Station Medical Center, UPMC Altoona and Sam’s Club are just some of the places you can find the bright red food truck. Their heart, though, is in Williamsburg. Weaver said they guarantee that over the summer they would be in Williamsburg at least twice a month.
According to the Belly Busters gang, their favorite thing to make is the burgers.
“We just take pride in our burgers,” said Weaver. “Our customers come back for the same flavor and that exact same burger, so our job is to provide a consistent product.”
Of all the burgers on their menu, the pair agree that the Hangover and Cowboy Burger are their most popular. The Cowboy Burger is made up of a marinated all-beef handmade patty, Cheffy’s BBQ sauce, handmade onion straws, and pepperjack cheese.
What is most important to the Belly Busters crew is the community of Williamsburg.
“We just want to thank the people of Williamsburg for their love and support,” Weaver said. “We just want to give back.”
The group does so by sponsoring teams in the community and sponsoring a Holiday Gift Drive at Christmas time.
“We also want to get the community to come together,” Bradley said.
Their next big event, is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, in partnership with Biddle’s Brewing. This will be a “Music in the Park” event held at Riverside Park from 4-8 p.m. This event will be highlighted by musical act, Second Edition.
