Suprise Party for Birthday

Herald of March 31, 1922

Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Bice gave a delightful little surprise party for their son, Blair Jr. in honor of his eighth birthday. The party was a complete surprise to Blair, who enjoyed it very much.

The following ladies enjoyed a taffy pull at the home of Mrs. Sarah Bassler in Loysburg: Mrs. J. C. Kagarise, Mrs. Sarah Davis and Misses Annie Butts, Kansas, Margaret and Elsie Little, Mary Bassler, and little Miss Iasbel Geibel.

Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Wilt of Altoona visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Lykens, Sr. who were ill. Mr. Lykens was suffering from the grippe and nervous chills. Mrs. Lykens was also sick.

Curtis Provins moved into the Ashcom farm. James Umbower previously occupied the place, but he moved to a farm purchased from Mrs. Jame Shriver.

James Hampton and family moved to rooms in the William Wagner property while Elvin Gates moved to the house vacated by Mr. Hampton.
