Children from six area elementary schools were meeting with architects to design a new playground at the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park. The steering committee, headed by Steven E. Tomlinson of Martinsburg, was working with Leathers & Associates of Ithaca, N.Y. to design a new playground that met safety standards.

David Bigelow of Williamsburg was named recipient of the Pennsylvania Dairy Herd Improvement Association’s first State Office Employee of the Year award. Bigelow had been employed by DHIA for 12 ½ years.
