Central Cove FFA Chapter

There are currently 90 members in the Central Cove FFA Chapter, which advised by Thomas Ritchey.

Chapter officers for 2021-22 are:

SAMPLE OF FFA ACTIVITIES

A. State FFA Week competitions (virtual)

• Land judging team placed second (Lily Sollenberger, 2nd place individual; Sam Stahl and Keller Metzker also received gold medals)

• Dairy judging team placed third (team members: Madison Benfer, Mason Benfer, Katheryn Longenecker, and Faith Brumbaugh)

• Ashley Sollenberger (gold medal-employment skills)

• Keller Metzker (gold medal-extemporaneous speaking)

• Keller Metzker also ran as a state officer candidate

B. Senior and officer recognition meal and awards program

C. Darcy Heltzel was selected to play at the National FFA Band at the National Convention

D. Chapter softball game

E. Participated in Morrisons Cove Dairy Show

F. Participated in Blair County Jr. Livestock Show/Sale

G. Participated in Hollidaysburg Community Fair

H. Assisted with the Blair County Chamber of Commerce "Down on the Farm" event

I. Served the Blair County Farm/City Banquet

J. Attended the State FFA Fall Leadership Conference

K. Officers attended Rep. Jim Gregory's farmers' breakfast with the PA Secretary of Agriculture

L. Chapter turkey shoot (both summer and Thanksgiving shoots)

M. Six students received Blair/Bedford/Fulton Area FFA Degrees

N. Katheryn Longenecker, Faith Brumbaugh, and Ashley Sollenberger received their Keystone FFA Degrees at PA Farm Show

O. Five freshmen members were awarded their FFA jackets at the PA Farm Show
