Men Join Auxiliary

More than 200 men joined the firemen auxiliary units in the Cove after a plea for members was issued in the Herald. Fire Police and Supervisors were appointed in Huston and North Woodbury Townships.

Martinsburg Borough established a policy covering the construction of new streets and the surfacing of those already opened. The borough will cover one third of the cost and property owners on either side will cover the other two thirds of the cost of paving newly opened streets and streets.

Dr. J. K. Bonebreak of Martinsburg was named chairman of the committee on clinics for the upcoming district convention of the Central Pennsylvania Dental Society. The convention was to be held in Altoona and 150-175 dentists from a seven county area were expected to attend.

Nationally known evangelist A. J. Daily from Alabama was scheduled to preach each night from Feb. 16 through March 9 (except Mondays) at the Laymen’s Tabernacle on East Allegheny street in Martinsburg.
