For the last few months, the Morrisons Cove Rotary Club has selected Students of the Month from Williamsburg. The winners are: September: Zach Snare, October: Morgan Webb, November: Alissa Walker, December: Krista Simpson, and January: Mikel Kuchenbrod.
Zach Snare is the son of Tracy Kensinger and Brian Snare. Some of his school honors include: finishing Spanish IV, College Psychology and is currently taking Calculus and Statistics. In school, Snare is involved with Band, Chorus, Concert Band and County Chorus for 3 years. With the community, Snare is involved with the Sustainability Club and currently works at Nic's Grab N Go.
October's winner was Morgan Webb. Webb is the daughter of Matt and Angie Webb, Williamsburg. In school, Webb is involved in Cheerleading, Softball, Student Council, FFA, Creative Compassions, Senior Class Secretary, Blue Pirate Network, Sustainability Club, Prom Committee, Health and Careers Club and Homecoming Court. Some of her community activities include: a Missions trip to Mexico, lead activities for Kids Camp, planted trees on the trail in Williamsburg, a Missions trip to Tennessee to help paint an orphanage, and volunteered at Lady Pirate Basketball Camp. For future plans, Webb wants to attend college for Early Childhood Education or Psychology.
November's choice was Alissa Walker. Walker is the daughter of Richard and Karen Walker, Williamsburg. Some of Walker's accomplishments include National Honor Society and a graduation from Leadership Blair County Youth. Her in-school activities include: Marching/Concert Band, Yearbook, Aveidum, National Honor Society, Speech Team, Blue Pirate Network and Volleyball. Outside of school, she is involved in various church activities. Walker's future plans include going to college and become a teacher.
December's winner was Krista Simpson. Simpson is the daughter of Goldie Simpson and Jason Simpson. Her school accomplishments include National Honor Society for 4 years, president of NHS for 1 year and winning the ICC Championship in her junior year of Basketball. Her in-school activities include: Varsity Basketball, Varsity Volleyball, Bandfront, Student Council, Spanish Club, Careers in Health and Blue Pirate Network. For community involvement, Simpson is a member of the Sustainability Club. Her future plans are to attend Penn State majoring in Political Science and then continue her studies in law school.
January's winner was Mikel Kuchenbrod. He is the son of Beth Sollenberger and Jude Kuchenbrod. His in-school accomplishments include: Honor and Merit Rolls and the Challenge program. In school activities include: Creative Compassions, Yearbook, GACTC Computer Programming and Prom Committee. In the community, Kuchenbrod is involved with Hoover Martial Arts.
