The legendary George Herbert Allen served as the head coach for the Los Angeles Rams (1966–1970) and the Washington Redskins (1971–1977). He was considered a great coach though he never won a Super Bowl. He revolutionized special teams by spending additional time with the players. During his career, Coach Allen composed 10 Football Commandments, which he emphasized with his players:
• Football comes first;
• Accomplish something in your position;
• Don’t accept mediocrity;
• Give 100 percent;
• Use leisure time carefully;
• No detail is to small;
• Be doers;
• A person without problems is dead...
