South Woodbury Township Board of Supervisors met Jan. 3, and voting for permanent positions was done.
Organization
All supervisors will retain their positions.
Supervisor John Hileman will be the vice chair and assistant roadmaster.
Rachel White was reappointed as secretary and treasurer. Genevieve Zebroski was appointed as co-secretary.
The firm of Ritchey, Ritchey and Koontz was retained to audit township accounts including the general, state and wastewater funds.
The secretary wage was increased by $1 an hour. All other wages remained the same.
Paid holidays will remain the same. The prevailing rate for mileage reimbursement set by IRS is $0.585 per mile. This will be subject to change.
All donations remained the same with the exceptions of removing the $100 donation to Bedford County restaurants.
Robert Reffner was appointed a non-supervisory laborer/CDL vehicle operator.
The township’s legal council is Daniel Stants with the firm of Goldstein, Heslop, Steele, Clapper, Oswalt and Smith. He will be retained at an hourly rate of $130 in court.
Sewage Officer will continue to be Jamie Catanese as primary and Edward Swartz as alternate.
Bedford County Association of Municipalities (BCAM) representative will be Supervisor Rick Musselman, with Hileman as the alternate.
Altoona First Savings Bank and Fulton Bank will be retained.
All regular monthly meetings will be the first Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. except December, which will be held the first Tuesday at 6 p.m. All meetings will be at the township building.
The tax collection committee will be White as primary and Zebroski as alternate representative.
Supervisor and emergency contact for wastewater operations will be Musselman as emergency and PA One Call contact. Hileman will be alternate.
All delinquent sewer accounts greater than 90 days will be sent a collection letter with payment due within 15 days. If no payment is made, a second letter will be sent to be paid in 10 days, then account information will be sent to solicitor for filing municipal lien.
Regular Monthly Meeting Business
Minutes were approved. Treasurer report given with a total liabilities & Equity I $2,374,586.86. SWT Wastewater Treatment Facility has Total Liabilities & Equity of $6,840,926.16.
Supervisor Hileman reported on the PSATS meeting from Dec. 9. It was reported that if a township donated money to volunteer departments, such as the fire company, the township is responsible to make sure the funds are used as designated. ARPA money can be used for projects related to stormwater control if it is well documented as such.
The roadmaster reported salt and cinders were applied as needed.
Tax Collector Kelly Baker appointed Deb Mellott as deputy tax collector.
